(Houston, Texas) --- NASA today announced Houston radio newsman Chuck Shramek will be the first journalist in space. NASA says besides giving the public an inside view of space flight, Shramek will also provide them with the chance to study the effects of space flight on overweight guys with high cholesterol counts who smoke. Shramek said he is thrilled for the opportunity. He is especially excited about astronaut Jane Davis being on the flight with him because he always wanted to study "weightless hooters." Chuck has even suggested an experiment which he will conduct. He will try to re-assemble the rats which were dissected during a mission in October. He will also study the effects of zero - G conditions on cigarette smoke. Since the flight will be longer than 6 hours and cross international boundaries, the smoking restrictions will be lifted. Chuck added that he is hoping for a window seat.
